Hey all, i just bought my first audi, a 96' automatic A4 quattro as i previously owned a 99' 4runner. I mainly got the car cuz its sick as hell, very good price and i love speed. I know i could make great mods to the car, however i am a college student and i dont have a bankload of money. What are some suggestions for mods and fixtures that i could start off with?

If you want more horsepower there is one mod you can do..sell it and buy a 1.8t.

I also have a 96' but im happy with the speeds I can obtain for now.. The mods we can do to the car mainly concentrate on cornering. Look for suspenision, sway bars, brakes, etc.

The 12v engine is just notoriously difficult to tune for horsepower so not many people do it. There is this guy on Audiworld.com I beleive named Mance (1pissed90) and he makes custom stuff for this engine like MAF's and velocity stacks, other than that there really is no engine mods for the car.

 

i just want something that will give me decent power, im not here to go out street racing, however i want something thatll take the avg rice rockets out.

in the end ill most likely mod the looks of the car more than the engine/insde of the car

i can still do the changes in filters/intakes correct?

and possibly adding a muffler for a nice sound?

 

You can add a custom exhaust, but I havn't found a company that makes a complete bolt on cat back. and everything I've read so far is that the best intake is the stock one, though you can get a K&N panel filter for it if you want.


what is your definition of rice rockets?

 

any form of basic hondas and rice in which add fat *** cans on the end of their cars..

ya ill probably look into the intakes, prob save money up and make the exterior look good, then work into the suspension

 

sounds like a plan. I'm hopefully gonna be able to get my suspension done soon.

Well, exhaust, drop in panel, coilovers, wheels, debadge, tint, brake upgrades, that should keep you busy fora little while.
