Just Bought High Mileage '96 A4 5speed FEW QUICK Q's!
Hey all. I just bought a 1996 A4 2.8 Quatro. I had a 1990 300zx wich i sold and i needed a car short notice and i always loved audi's so i figured i would pick one up.
Bought it for 4k.
It is Black.
150k miles on it.
5 speed.
Condition: Body has some cosmetic damage(on the rear bumper it was hit my a shopping cart or something, low by the exhaust so its not too noticable. The paint is very good actually. Some slight scratches here and there. She drives smooth as hell and all gears feel real solid. Clutch catches high but im used to it from my VW golf that i had a while ago. The Car is FULLY Loaded for its time. Heated Seats/Climate control/ETC. Woodgrain, etc. So it was worth it for the time being untill i can lease a bran new one.
My Questions:
1. I like the newer OEM tailight style. Am i able to just switch them out with new another B5 Light? (1996-2001)
2. I also like the newer OEM Headlights as well. I also like the HALO lights.
3. The black paint is scratched in some areas. I bought BLACK tutle wax w/ black chip filler. I also have the 3 stage system from mequires, or however you spell it) BUT i was thinking about getting the car compound and simimonized would this remove swirl marks and some top coat scratches?
4. With my 300zx there was 60k, 120k mile maintenance. Is there any recommended maintences i should do with 150k miles? I just got a oil changed and fluid check so im good in that department.
5. The leather in the car is VERY good. But with anything could be better. I found several repair kits. Has anyone actually tried these with good results?
Thanks all. Im trying to maintain this baby as best as possible.
Pieces I need to make the car perfect.
1. The center armrest is too warn out. Would need another one. any ideas? Or should i get it reupholstered?
Thats honestly it.

Wow thanks all for the fast *** responses!
Glad the tailights fit w/o shaving. The headlights i can just go aftermarket Halo's.
I will DEF ClayBar the car before anything.
Timing Belt! You got it! Im not going to assume it was done, so i will have that replaced next paycheck. Thanks for the responses!
