Good work, welcome to the club.

We know who to call on the next time a 2.8 TB noob comes calling about how to remove the fan!

i didnt use any sealant cause the manual said not to unless its a metal gasket .drove its around today with no leaks so i think its good. the only problem i have now is the machanical fan wont stop spining. the car sound like it has a truck engine from all the noise. i tried turning the fan with the engine off and i could feel a resistance (when still cold). i think i may have damaged the clutch when i was prying on it for all those hours. i took the fan off and started the engine to make sure there was no blet sounds. everything sounded perfect.

Its still a good idea to use a small amount of gasket sealer for "insurance" in the long run even if the gasket isnt metal. Im sure it will hold up fine though.

Djspiel- Did you have a roof leak in the garage when you did your water pump? Looks like you were in a garage so i dont see how rain could affect anything???

what problem? every car that has a timing belt must have it changed at some point.
