Just Got Back From a Revo Dealer...
I went to a local Revo dealer today. I wanted to test out the stage 1 programming. I know that Revo does free trials for couple hours and I was really interested in possibly getting it. However, I went there and the place wanted $75 bucks to install the trial. Then, if I decided to get it that $75 would go towards the $500 of the cost of the software.
I didn't want to be out $75 bucks and have nothing to show for it if I didn't like it so I declined and walked out. Does this sound right to you guys? I just didn't want to be out $75 for nothing.

Why you wanna wait for the email? You want your REVO today. GIve a call to REVO. If they say "it is free no hiddin charge" then go to that F shop again. tell them what REVO said, if they say no this and that and call REVO while you are at shop and complain the shop front of them.
I hate when people try to take other peoples money without doing anything....

Well, I just my response back from Revo. It looks like the dealer can charge what it wants to install the free trial. That sucks. And the closest other dealer is an APR dealer a hour and a half away. Oh well, looks like I'll just hold off on the chipping.
Actual Revo Response:
Thank you for your email and interest in Revo Technik software for your A4. The software itself is entirely free, but the dealer may still charge for labor - it's entirely up to them. I can tell you, however, that it would be worth your while to go ahead and get it if you are interested in purchasing the software - or you can try some of our other dealers in the area and see if they charge for labor. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yea, I emailed a couple local Revo dealers in my area to inquire about chipping. Both felt it necessary to say they don't charge a fee for install. One claimed others do it. I wouldn't pay anyway.

Ya "Free trial" does not = "$75 trial" Sounds like BS. Where i got chipped, i was a little skeptical about the price, when he sensed that from me he was considering giving me a free trial on GIAC. Every place should give a free trial for chips because it will be a sure sale.
