Just Got Back From a Revo Dealer...
ORIGINAL: JettaRedII
Both are very good points that I agree with. The issue is not the Revo trial, but the customer service of the particular shop. Now that I think about it, it may be short-sighted of the shop to "discourage" the trial by charging $75, but not uncommon to see that kind of thing elsewhere, like all the "risk free" offers on TV or in the mail where you just pay shipping and handling. But because $75 does discourage some from trying the product, I think it now becomes an issue that Revo needs to take action on.
The other thing you should be aware of is that my experience with Revo is that once Revo is flashed to the ecu, you may not be able to ever flash the same chip with anything other than Revo. When I went from Revo to GIAC on my 2001 A4, the shop had to send the ecu to AWE to solder on a brand new blank prom before the flash would take. According to the shop, I was not the first to experience that problem with Revo. So, buyers beware.

I got half way down before I started to get deja vu - then I looked and the date and said "I've already read all this ****" thanks for bringing back old memories.........[:'(]
I had revo back in the day and i think it was few bucks as as well.
The free trial is a toned down version of the full software.
When the trial expired i RAN back to the dealer like theres no tomorrow.
Had it for a month and then i went GIAC.

Why get the free upgrade? We all know that it works great. Look other dealers, and see who provides the best price in your area (Get a dealer with a Dyno) The typical price range is $500.00, the local shop that I've grown to like gave me the best price, theywon my vote, and I will be doing business with them.
