but the car shifts when it is off... it wouldnt do that if it were damaged... right...

 

heheheh of course it will feel like its working but will do nothing if its aligned wrong and can damage the gearbox ( did you align the clutch with the right tool ??

and if it were aligned wrong... i wouldnt be able to put it in gear and start the car and then go.. like i can... the problem is that the clutch wont disingague

 

explain because it does seem you have blundered some where

 

yes i obviously have... lol... ummm when i aligned the clutch i just used three hands... mine and my dads... we held it in the middle of the pressure plate... and then tightened down the pressure plate bolts... jacked up the trani... and about fifteen twenty min later.. of wiggling and manuvering of the trani... it slid right in and then bolted it up to the engine...

 

ok... so just to clearify the problem.... i start the car in neutral... and depress the clutch... and it wont go into gear... goes about a 1/4 of the way into gear and wont ingauge.... but with the engine off i can put it in to any gear and can hear the trani shifting... i can put the car in gear and start it, with the clutch depressed but it still moves the car... unless the e-brake is on... then the car stalls...
