did you use the proper tool to line it up or was it a guess??

 

prettymuch a guess... i just used my fingers and got it as close as i possibly could...

 

you need the proper tools mate and they are cheap

Note to self....When doing Clutch use Alignment tool.

I just replaced my clutch for the same reason. Did you replace the throw out bearing? Due to asking around and using my head i realized that if your car is off and you can put it in gear then there is no problem with your hydraulic system so replacing the slave was a waste of money. and like you said if it wasnt aligned you would have never been able to put the transmission in. My bet is on your throw out. always replace clutch plate, pressure plate, flywheel bolts, pilot bearing, throw out bearing. if its not your throw out i dont know.
