actually i rode in an A4 with a neuspeed chip and it still had plenty of kick to it. I was actually thinking about going with a neuspeed chip but i'm leaning more towards the giac once i'm ready to do it.
save up to get an apr or giac. people said it before but it will be so worth it. you dont NEED the chip right now so its the smart thing to just wait and save up the extra $300 to get the apr or giac. youll be making more power and boost than the neuspeed...something you wont regret.
Ok guys, here's the deal. I think my new car feels fast becuase I'm coming from a Ford Ranger of all things. My buddy just drove it and he has the 3.0. He said his feels a lot faster of course. Also I used to have a 2003 Acura CL-S with a 260 hp v-tech. I know that was a hell of a lot faster, but I'm used to the truck.
As far as chipping goes now... My goal is to preserve the engine as much as possible. That's why there's no way I'm going to put in a major hp upgrade on the chip. Do you guys think the neuspeed chip will ruin my turbo very fast? I imagine that's where all you're extra HP is coming from, i.e. faster wear on the turbo. I'd like to get many miles without replacing the turbo...
My first mod is going to be the xenon's though. That's the only option my car does not have.

I don't see why you think the chip is going to murder your engine. There are plenty of cars that have been chipped for more than 100K miles, and the turbo is still original. Chipping doesnt kill your car, in fact, chipping is GOOD for your car, as it is much more precise tuning -- it IMPROVES fuel economy.
How you may choose to drive it, is what could be potentially hard on your car. But yeah... I'm sure you can chip your car, change your oil with full synthetic every 3500 miles or so, and your car will go to 200K miles without much drama. PLUS, do you have any idea how cheap K03 turbo's are!? IF your turbo goes, boo hoo, you can buy a good used one for like 150 bucks.
GO APR OR GIAC. This thread is like a broken damned record.

a USED k03 are dirt cheap and i bet you'll find alot of them now casue theres so many turbo upgrades now a days
chips still stay in the limits of the engine
and a turbo timer i kinda pointless, i have one but i never installed it, never had time, i dont think i ever will install it
and dont forget to look in toe REVO
