Default K&N Filter and MAF

Ok I'm taking a little poll here on K&N and how many times its triped your MAF in a6 week period. I for one just had my first CEL about 2 weeks ago and another one this morning. I'm wondering how many people have this problem. Or a way to get past it and not have to clean and reset it every time.

2 times in 3 weeks here.

No CEL as of yet. I've had mine for a couple weeks now without any problems except that it feels a bit sluggish as of late, to which i will contribute to the K&N oil getting on the MAF, to which i will clean this weekend.

The filter should be fine when you get it. It usually people cleaning it and over oiling it that kills the maf.

Ok WTF Mate lol. I've seen some post that this might happen to some people and damm why did it have to be me... What conditions are your car's exposed to? I havent cleaned my filter yet its only been in 3 weeks and 2 CEL I must be over looking some of the fine print or something.

Are you 100% sure the CEL is directly related to the K&N? Are you clearing the CEL with a vag, or does it just go away? If you're clearing it with a vag, see what codes it's throwing.

I've blown a MAF sensor by using a K&N over-oiled right out of the box. I have switched to these:

I have a cone filter for my EVOMS intake but they now make panel filters (Dryflow, no oil). It's been OK so far.

Out of the box, my K&N caused 2 CELs over a few days. I had to let the filter sit in the garage and dry out for about a week. After that, I put it back in, and haven't had a code in a few months.
