i actually had a few problems on my wrx with the K&N. Not out of the box but after i cleaned and reoiled it with the kit. No problems though with my K&N on this audi though!

Darknight - there might be some confusion here. Are your referring to the K&N 57i intake kit, or the standard K&N air filter?

On my 2.8, I had a K&N panel filter for 10K miles, on my 1.8T I had a panel filter for 10K miles and now have had a cone filter for 2K miles. Never had any CELs from it.

i have the panel k n and have no propblems, i took a little oil off when i took it out of the box and spray MAF cleaner every oil change, gives me something to do while the oil drips out
