Default K03 replacement questions

I'm thinking about chipping my car, but I still have about 9 months left on the warranty. I know the rest of the drivetrain is pretty solid, so my only issue is with the turbo (Car has 190,000km, or 120,000miles). I'm hoping to find a used K03 to buy for cheap just incase the turbo does actually go. My questions are:

1) Will the turbo from a 99 1.8T fit on a 2000 ok?

2) If I buy just the turbo, then end up eventually replacing it, will I require gaskets and other parts to install the new turbo?

3) How much would a turbo replacement cost, minus the cost of the turbo? Assume wages are $60/hr.

Thank you.

1) yes
2)will require turbo to manifold, turbo to oil return line, and cat to turbo gaskets.
3)maybe 6hrs...topps at a dealership.

Have you considered picking up a k04 turbo and getting some more power?

Excellent. I'll likely have the turbo for much less since it's used, but the cost of all the gaskets and stuff is really what I'm after.

Many times... a day...but I can't afford the supporting mods just yet.
