I don't see the logic of buying a turbo "just in case". Get a GIAC chip, if the turbo dies get a K04+GIAC. You have two A4s? Generally I think it depends on the dealer if they are willing to service a chipped car under warranty. Call them and ask if it will void your warranty with them, but most chips claim nondetectable.
Also, seems most warranties don't go beyond 100k miles or less.

Yeah, I worked with some numbers and buying a 2nd turbo just in case isn't fiscally worthwhile. I've decided on a spring/shock combo rather than a chip. This will keep the warranty, but still be fun.
