Default K04?!? 05 Audi Ultra Sport FWD Auto-

I need some serious help with my vehicle and some serious opinions.

As the subject says I've got a FWD Ultra Sport Automatic. I was worried about the automatic and the fwd until I realized that I have an advantage that I can build up turbo by power breaking and also I'll have more power going to my two wheels. And the tiptronic isn't bad either. As long as I'm not spinning out I feel pretty good.

So far I've upgraded my ecu flash, injectors, diverter valve, and air filter. It was a little boost but not enough now.

I don't want to dump a lot of money in this car. I know I'll get about .10 cents back for every $10.00 I put in if I ever sell it. The K04 turbo appealed to me since it was a bolt on. But is that the only thing I'm going to have to get? Or are there other things I need to upgrade if I throw that in? For example, tranny cooler, 3' down pipe, intake? What would be IDEAL and what would I NEED?

power braking is idiotic.
The only time it is acceptable is if either A) It's a lease Or B) You are aware of the consequences, understand that its bad for the tranny, and are prepared for the worst. Or C)All of the above.
There is only one person that I know of that does brake stands and he qualifies under C and is also a crazy glue sniffer.

You say you dont want to dump a lot of money into it, then you say you want a new turbo setup. But more importantly, you first talked about power braking. I felt that power braking was the most relevantthing to comment on.

hey man i would definatley get a full exhaust and quite possibly a hi-flow cat. I had several problems with a K04 creating to much back pressure that builded up with stock exhaust. I blew two turbos because of this but was perfectly fine after i got exhaust and hi-flow cat. I strongly recommend it in my opinnion

You dont know that for sure right? I mean your turbo failure could have been due to sludge in the oil/coolant feed/return lines or a couple other things. But ya i agree a higher flowing exhust is very recomended with a k04. A test pipe or hfc might even be the best choice if you dont want to spend a lot but want to reduce back pressure and get performance gains.

after many of different attempts of trying to figure out why the turbos kept blowin, we (myself, and two other shops i went to) narrowed it down to this reason! After the first turbo went out we checked the issue of ..."due to sludge in the oil/coolant feed/return lines".... cleaned the lines out and used all new fluids..... two months later the second turbo went out..... then went with hi-flow cat and exhaust, no more problems after that. And yah it costed a lot of F-ing money. Keep in mind the turbos were under warranty
