If i buy a K04 and throw it in my 97 A4 1.8t before i get my apr chip will i getmore out of it ?

 

well it wont run as strong or as well tell you get the right ko4 chip for it

 

short answer - no. you'll get some gains, but the stock programming will manage the K04 the same way it manages the K03 - that is, it'll still be running 7 psi. to really get the good gains from a K04, you need the software that's meant for that turbo (as well as the other supporting mods).

 

Well, you'll want to get the k04 in there, and then a chip that is flashed for the k04, then you will.
Reaplcing the turbo without the programming wont really do much of anything.

 

You will need the ko4 and a chip, but yes that is the correct order. Don't get the K04 chip untill the k04 is in.

 

APR does not offer a B5 K04 chip - you will have to go GIAC
