Default K04 & life span/reliability..

so i have a time frame on my mods..

AWE GIAC chip
Bailey DV ------------- 3 mos.

AWE Borla exaust ------- 6 - 12 mos.

AWE K04 ------------- 9 - 12 mos.

so i'm not so worried about the chip or exaust.....
but the K04? my 2001 only has 33K miles on it, probobly wont have much more than 35-36K on it in 12 mos.
so even though it'll be out of warrenty, i really dont want to cut it's life-span down too much..

now i know that there's a few of you on here that are actual mechanics, and a few more that really seen to know what your talking about........... THESE are the opinions that i'm really looking for...

thanx..

I've got 125,000 on mine. I chipped at about 80,000 and put the K-04 in at around 100,000. As long as you keep taking care of it you'll be fine.

I have a ko4, it really all depends on what software you use, some of them are pretty brutal.

the p-16 gives higher #'s doesn't it but it requires a FMIC and injectors but hey if you are going with the dalback they can program you to run the best with the mods u have now

well, i have no intentions of using any special files or anything.......

if i understand it right the AWE K04 & Borla Exaust will put me right around 250hp, and this is abouot all i'm looking for. so i see no need for anything else...

so, the stock K04 from AWE, no files, ... is it gonna have a drastic effect on my cars life-span? Should i be weary? i do only have 35K miles on it, so putting 60-80K more miles on this car is VERY likely....

good advise only please.... if your talking out your a$$ basing your advice on "what you heard" please dont waste a post.
this is a serious question and i'm only looking for advise from people who have serious knowledge (i.e. if you backed the "turbonator" in a previous post, keep your opinion to yourself)

Well the stoack program that comes with AWE's K04 kit is the E05 you will need this to get 250hp and to go another 60-80miles I don't see a problem as long as you keep up with your maintances and you arn't beating the hell out this thing all the time I do understand that there are going to be times that you will want to have fun but after you do make sure you let the car idle for a least a minute before you shut it off you will be ok [sm=gears.gif]
