on dbw cars, all you need is your tuning software and a manual boost controller for insurance, set it to 19, and you are savvy..


as for a hard tune on a 2001, you wont want the pc-16, you will want the j31 file. ( i believe )

 

Does the K04 look "less potent" because you are looking at numbers only? I think, for a daily driver, 300+lbft of torque in a ~3200lb car is going to feel just fine to me (read: big grin) even though the number 400lbft sure does look appealing. Maybe after an engine rebuild, after many miles. Keep in mind to get 300lbft+ from any turbo you'll need injectors, FMIC, FPR, exhaust, chip to take advantage of them all (GIAC PC16/J31 for K04). Did I leave anything out?

 

some sort of inlet pipe also....i dont think u can get more than about 275 with stock intake.
