Anybody have any ideas? Sometimes when I put my key in the ignition it can turn over very easily, however sometimes it feels like it is LOCKED and I cannot turn it at all. A little bit later, although i feel this is super unhealthly, i slightly over muscle it and turn the ignition and then it feels as if it "breaks through" the barrier that was holding it back.

does this make sense, sound familiar to anyone?

If your steering wheel lock is engaged, youll have problems getting the key in/out without turning the wheel a little. If you have auto, make sure your gear selector is ALL the way into Park.

 

Its a manaul, so maybe i just need to turn the wheel before attempting to crank?

 

Mine doesn't wanna turn sometimes too but that's because I am new to the car and sometimes I forget that I have to push in and then turn. On my eclipse I just turned and it fired right up.

 

yea buddy its a steering lock...turn the wheel clock wise and turn the key at the same time...
