Has anyone heard that if you get switchblade keys from like ebay or something like that. They might not work and if they dont work when you are programming them it can screw up a part in the car that would run you about $700 My local Audi dealership is charging me an arm and a leg for just a key with no remote and I want to see if there is a better place to get them thanks allot

check this post:

I bought my remote and a blank key off ebay. No I don't see how you can really mess up the programming, it is just turning the car on, turning a lock and programming the remote. The most damage you are going to do is make your remote not work with the car, at which point you just reprogram it. I know this because I did it somehow, I had one working remote, then two, then none. All within 5 minutes time. I just reprogrammed both and now they both work perfect.

just make sure you get the right key part number:

p.s: An a6 remote worked fine with my a4 too.

I bought my switchblade key from Ebay and it programmed fine. The problem that I am having is that when I program the new remote, then the old remote does not work. How do you program 2 remotes at once so that both will work???
