So im looking into buying an a4...i really want a 1998 with the 30v motor, but its a little steep...my price range is about 5k....but one thing i like about the 98 in addition to the 30v motor is the switchblade style key. i was wondering, if i cant get my hands on a 98, could i go to the dealer and use a 98 key and have it cut for a 96 or 97? did they all use the same style actual key part? or will that style key not work on a 97 or 96? thanks

 

im sure they could cut one for you if the older ones dont come with the switch blade. but i dont know if they use a laser cut key or the older more comon grinder cut key
