KO4
I can't speak for the B5's because I never modded mine, but on B6 you have to "chip" the car for a K04 to work. While you can drive the car far enough to get to the tuner with a K04 newly installed, if you don't upgrade the ECU ("chip" or "reflash", depending on software you use and whether they solder chip in or flash your ECU from VAG COM port) the short story is that your car will not even know the K04 is there. The long story is that you'll have problems, not the least of which is limp mode.
In addition, you will need injectors, which vary depending on software you choose, and of course FMIC and exhaust with either HFC or test pipe. You can run the K04 without the FMIC or HFC/TP, but it won't be maximizing the powrband you've created with the new turbo.
So, minimum is injectors and software (chip). Optimum is adding FMIC or DSMIC and exhaust with HFC or TP.
