Lighter flywheel=increased acceleration????
I've read that a lighter flywheel will increase acceleration on any vehicle. Apparently this has been known for some time according to what is out there. Although it does not increase actual horsepower (obviously, it (flywheel) does absorb energy during acceleraton, so a lighter flywheel will increase acceration right?

Well my feeling on it is if CINCYTT said it's true. IT'S TRUE!
Any advice on lighter than stock flywheels out there?? I'm not looking for a high priced clutch package as I have no need due to increased horsepower. I have a 12v!!!

It is true, and you'll also get the benefit of a quicker-revving engine as well, since there's less inertia on a lightweight FW to overcome. There may be a little bit of a learning curve when you first drive with it though - that quickness in revving works both in increasing and decreasing revs. When you go to take off, once you begin to engage the clutch, your revs will drop more quickly before you get on the gas, so you may have a little bit of lurching until you learn the "new" way the engine engages. It won't take long to get it though - took me about 10 minutes of driving in town in my Z to learn the feel of the light FW and UD pulley. And the engine does feel more responsive, make no doubt about it. I felt like the biggest gain in response was cruising on the highway and accelerating in-gear - seemed to pick up noticeably more quickly.
Did you really need to make another thread? Just asking. No idea whats out there for a 12v but people probably arent going to swap clutches just for a lighter fw. Maybe something to do if the clutch goes, but not if its in full working order, thats not really cost effect for the small gains.
lol, onepoint8 gave hima choice... such a sweet fellow.
get that flywheel and lemme know how it goes, i plan on doing it..
but than again I plan on doing a lot of things..
