Default Lighting

I want to do some work on the lighing on my 1999.5 a4. It has stock headlights and fogs, im going to do a clear corner mod though. I dont wanna get completely new headlights (whats the point?), but i want some nice halogen/xenon bults. I also want to get some nice xenon/halogen fog lights, I dont want to spend a lot though, anyone have any suggestions on what i should get??

Which ones?

The silverstar can probably be bought cheaper at pepboys. They give a good white light, but I wasn't happy with the speed with which they burned out. I'm not sure that the 100W bulbs are DOE approved for on-road use.

I would be careful using 100w bulbs. You don't really want melted housings do you?

Stock is 55W.

Higher wattage may put a strain on your wiring harness, and as mentioned above, could melt your housing.

Why do they sell them?

To make money of course.

Lots of places sell stuff (engine "mods", additives, etc) that are useless and potentially harmful.
