Default limp mode?

The last couple nights while getting on the freeway and acclerating hard(almost hitting redline in second and third) the car all of a sudden was only boosting 5 psi. Went back to normal after car was turned off and on. I assume it went in to limp mode. What causes this? And what exactly is limp mode?

Yeah I guess, but I don't know exactly what that is. I've seen the term thrown around though. I have had the chip for a couple months but this is the first time this has happened. I rarely run the rpm's up that high though so I'm guessing that has something to do w/ it.

N75 is the valve which controls the opening of the waste gate.

At high RPM, is your PSI slowly dropping off. It could be that the K03 is starting to run out of steam.

Once the car is running at lower RPM, is the boost normal or is it still low?

Any codes? Could your MAF be starting to go and Air metering sending the wrong signals to your car?

If it recurs check with your tuner.

PSI holds at 15. Max boost occurs at 3000 rpm. MAF was replaced a couple of months ago. Is an aftermarket N75 an easy diy? How much are they?

Easy DIY (just don't drop it). Cost is 70-90 dollars.

that may not be the problem though. check for any codes that may be stored?

Alright I guess I was wrong, the psi is slowly dropping off at high rpm. Does this mean my turbo is almost done?

Limp mode is caused by over boosting or leaning out up top in most cases. Ive boosted to 29psi and stilll never went into limp.
