yeah, you should definately see 8 psi, and sometimeseven spikes of 10psi if youre lucky. It does sound like limp mode.

dude, sounds like my problem, i was running strong, then boom, ":limp" mode, bought a guage and i ran 5 psi, so i get it cleared and was spikinbg about 10, setteling about 7 or 8

a bad maf won't make you run limp, from what the audi mechanic told me, my problem was a bad thrust sensor, but is your code 0171? that is what i had

I think it's probably the CEL as well. I had a similar code happen to me except mine was running too rich. The CEL would not even light up and I would go into limp mode (I have GIAC FXKO3 with Genesis injectors so I would go down from 19-20psi to 5psi). When scanning the car, I would see the DTC but no CEL. One time I had my girlfriend clear the code while I was driving and the boost came back instantaneously..... until I got the DTC again!!!

Yes a bad maf will make you go into limp mode. A bad maf can cause you to run lean. Running lean can cause detonation wich kills engines. I went into limp mode when my maf was dying.

You shouldnt do that, you can kill the ecu by doing that.
