line out converter + BOSE
If you don't feel like running wire from the HU all the way back to the trunk, you can tap the wires before they enter the rear amp on the back left speaker, effectively the same as tapping them behind the HU.
thanks north5995 thats exactly what im going to do. actually the shorter the distance of the wire from the line tap into my amp the better, shorter wire the better. now its just figuring out which two wires go to the bose sub. ill search. so any amp will accept this type of signal? the amp my cousin has is a crunch v-3004 from like 1990...lol. still kickin. it has rca line in and level adjustment i believe from 2.5 volts down to 0.2 volts. has the other normal adjustments too. im gonna post some pics of the side of the amp then maybe u guys can let me know what u think about the settings i should dial in. also he has two subs a kicker substation 8 and a bazooka...lol....i know start laughin. which one would u guys put in a 98 audi?
that thing your talking about is just the gain, turn it low, then turn the stereo as loud as you will ever listen to it then turn that up untill the subs are almost at their limit and turn it down just a hair

Yeah I could understand why. Its low level signal so its only bass. Now, if I were replacing my rear deck speakers, I'd definately rip out the stock wiring and redo it from the HU.
You can do it either way... I took the somewhat half-assed approach that seems to be working for a lot of people.
