lookin 4 VA dealership that will cut key

Default is there a chip in the key?


i posted a couple of days ago looking for a dealer in VA that will cut key..couldnt find one so i decided to just buy the key part from the dealer..arrgh...70 bux! ...

ok, now, is there a chip in the key? the dealer said that there's a chip inside the key that needs to be programmed ... can i program it myself ?

Yes i believe so. Do a search on the forum for programming keys. I am sure you will find what yoru lookign for.

no the key shouldn't have a transponder in it. Did the dealer cut it for you? Didn't they make sure it worked in the car?

no, the dealer didnt cut my key...i had to order the key(already cut) from them, just the switchblade part.. then i will connect this w the remote i bought from ebay...

oh ok.

well the key shouldn't have a transponder, you will have to program the remote part, do a search on the forum, it's a pretty easy process.

thanks jason745, thats what i thought too at least based on this forum...i just wanted to double check..
