Well, I'm currently looking for a 1.8t 2002 a4 with decent miles. It would be for my girl. What kind of problems would i see, such as:

Does the turbo go out after 100k+ miles?
Suspension Problems?
Automatic transmission problems?
Water pump?

etc?

yes im a newb, i tried searching but couldnt find any info.
If there is direct link would be nice.

 

The timing belt needs to be replaced one the miles start getting high(800 or 1000 dollars I think including labor) Sludge is a problem, so make sure the car has a good record of oil changes, and even look in the oil cap to see how much sludge has built up.

 

$800, are you sure you talking about the belt? The belt is about $30.

 

Belt, accessory belts, water pump, tensioner, thermo = around $300
Labor = $500

 

oh i c what you mean, just like the bimmer, with cheap water pumps.

is there anything else i should know about.
