Why won't my car start?
Here's what happened: late the other nightI went out to the car to get something. When I got out I forgot to turn the vanity lights off. When I went out to the car the next day the battery was almost completely dead. Earlier tonight I finally got it charged back up to where it was showing around 12v. I think it's turning over, but the car still won't start. I even tried jumping it, but still nothing. I'mnot sure, but I don't think there is any fuel getting to the engine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Swap the battery with a buddy's good battery and see what happens.
I think your battery is dead, once they are to far gone, the car may not start even with a jump.
What is the age of the battery?

Replace the battery. if its original, there's a 95% chance that its completely gone.
If its not dead, it will be soon, they only last about 5 years. So, you'll need to replace it anyway, call it preventive maintenance, and then we'll keep troubleshooting.

I'll definitely replace it on account of the age, but could this problem also be partlycaused becauseof the fuel pump? I've read that the relays tend to go out on the B5's.
I completely agree that the way this chain of event played out almost totally leads to a bad battery. It's just strange that it would still beshowing around 12v. Could it be that I am losing significant power when trying to start the car? If so, why wouldn't it start up when being jumped?
