Looking at an A4, tips and things to look for!
My girlfriend is looking to buy a 2000 A4 1.8T. 5 speed, yellow, 75,000 miles, looks to be in great condition. It's at a dealership, and they are asking 15,500 for it. Basically, I just thought I would do a little research for her first, find out what are the common problems for that model/year, what to look for, what not to look for, how to tell what condition the turbo is in, etc. So I just want to know from you guys is what I need to look for and ask about before she gets this A4. Any help would be appreciated. Also, here is a link to the car on autotrader.com. Thanks guys!

that is high priced, i payed 18,000 for my 01' and it had 35,000 miles on it last year, you can get a better price
Here's one in my area for lower price but it's a 99' with less miles

I bought my 01 1.8T Black on Tan Five speed for 14,500 at the dealer...after all the bs fees we were ou the door at 16. The car had 47000 miles on it....you my friend are getting a bad deal...Are we talking Canadian?

No, US. I wish it was Canadian though. We test drove it today, the ride is pretty nice, and overall the car is really clean. What if I can talk them down to 14,500 or 15,000? Should I still go for it? This is pretty much my girlfriends dream car, and I know she really wants it, but if we really are getting a bad deal, I dont know what to do. Does anyone know of any other yellow 1.8T A4's for sale?

If the price is worth it to you, then go for it...but you can get better deals for sure. I forgot to mention my car is not a Quattro but was certified pre-owned and has a warranty upto 100k or 2.5 more years
