whats the best year and model to buy looking at spending around 11,000 or less if all possible

I would look for a b5 (pre-2002) A4 and if you want to mod it in anyway you want to get a 1.8t. Quattro is a must and a stick would e my personal preference. Also if the car is in the 70k mile range you will want to make sure the timing belt has been changed.

If you were to look really really hard you might just find a b6.

Depends on what you want. Youd be looking at a B5 chasis for sure though (96-01.)

haha well what can i say

But, for $11,000 you can't go above an 01 unless it has issues. Plus the 2001 has 20 more HP then the 96-00.

Which makes absolutely no difference after a chip.
1.8t's werent introduced until 97 for the USA btw.

I paid $10k for mine, by the way (63k miles). I didn't think it was too bad of a deal.

well i have to have a automatic bc of physical reasons but does anyone know how the 1.8t compares to a
is300 and what are some good mods to do especially if it already has a turbo
