Looking to purchase an A4
Hello, I'm new to the site and I'm currently looking to buy an A4. I'm looking into a 1997 Audi A4 with 130k miles, I'm not sure if that's a lot for an Audi or if it will run forever. I would appreciate any kind of suggestion about what to ask the seller about the car or any problems that an Audi might encounter. Thank you for your help!
Not meaning to rag, but try searching the site. This question is asked about twice a week
Besides usual questions, ask if the timing belt has been changed if the car is close to 80K+. Unless you do it yourself, this is about a 700 dollar job including parts and labor.
Get a carfax and spend 100 dollars to have the car checked over by a mechanic/garage that specializes in VW and Audi and have him tell you what is wrong with the car.
If the car has the check engine light on, walk away.
Make sure oil has been changed every 5K miles, preferably with full synthetic. The 1.8T has a tendency to develop sludge.

The asking price is 3400 for the a4 and its about an hour from where I live so I wasn't sure if it was too good to be true or if I should take the ride. Thanks for your help with this, this site has a lot of info I was searching it last night.
