What up folks,

I want to buy the pela or similar oil extractor unit for my cars first oil change since i bought it a month ago. im in L.A. so I would like to know if there are any local stores either in L.A. or San Bernardino counties selling these products. I prefer to buy locally, appreciate the help.

not sure what your talking about. all you do for an oil change is remove the drain plug and the filter then fill it back up and put a new filter on

think he means sucking it out from the top. Not worth it imho. If you want to make your life easy, just get one of these

sucking the oil from the top? like through the dip stick or the oil cap? that just sounds pretty crazy to me lol

It is since you still need to change the filter from below. Would be almost worth it if you could change the filter from above the car.

hey guys what im talking about is this:
http://pelaproducts.com/flash_video/pela_video.html
but the6 liter pump is needed
the site ispelaproducts.com

I have since learned that it is used mostly for marine apps. but still an effective alternative in cases where folks like myself aren't interested in investing in jacks/ramps, sliding under car and such. This is pretty close to no fuss. I have an 03 B6 qtro manny and i can access my filter from the top.

Dude seriously it take 5 minutes to jack up the car and change the oil. Keep in mind the system is designed to be drained from the bottom. With the extractor you migh be leaving metal shavings in the bottom of the oil pan. So you don't wanna get dirty. Fine just take it to the dealership pay $75

I use an extractor. Although only every other time.

And I change my filter from the top.

PELA 6000 Oil Extractor
Capacity: 6.0 litres (1.57 gal)
Height: 21.5" (assembled)
Diameter of Container: 9"
Tube: Probe 3/16" OD
Length 43"
Clear Section 3/8" OD
Length 39"
6 litres = 6.34012 quart (US liquid)

part number directly from manufacturer.
Product #: IF-017350 (please also specify either PL-2000 or PL-6000) so again this is the same part number for both units

the thing is $46

um yes i do know how easy it is to raise and change oil but again this is even easier + cheaper for a guy (myself) who is not interested buying/storing jack/stands/ramps etc. also not interested in sliding under his car for something like this on a routine basis.

again this is a great alternative for folkswho are in my situation. Yes i live in aptartments with the rules and blah blah but for the price it cant be beat especially when my local stealership is charging $150 other trustworhy foreign car guys are charging $100 for oil changes and I have hadBAD experiences with Jiffy Stooge and WackMart- on other vehicles so no way will i give them the oppurtunity to royally screw me in anyway.

well you really only need your jack in the spare tire tool box thingy in your car. you cn go jack up the car, takes 5 sec to take out the plug, go back inside for a nice drink, come back out, change the filter and put thingys back in and together. no matter where you live it's not too big of a task lol. and people who take their car to a place like jiffy lube are shopping for trouble
