Default Puttering?

I have a SLIGHT puttering coming from my engine bay. When i first got the car about 1500 miles ago...there was so little putter that i couldent hear it or it wasnt there at all. Its dead winter now. Just wondering what it could be? Normal? Belts? Its a 2.8 98

WOW there ALOT of irony in that...as soon as i got my audi i wanted to get a magnaflow set up from about the Y pipes to the Tips and my dad said "you just got the car, why dont you want until you need to replace theexhaust to upgrade" lol not 1500 miles later i have an exhaust leak! I guess i got my wish!

Only thing is because its the exhaust theproblem could be at the headersright? Witch i would think would be more money cause its not what i was going to replace. Any problems with lettin this go until spring when i get my new exhaust?

Whatdo u think an exhaust shop will charge to find and fix the leak?

is there a way for you to get the car high enough so you can get under it and listen? if the leak is behind the cat conv then you'll be fine. otherwise it'll affect the 02 sensor readings a bit

lol yeah i have like20 more years b4 i get to the top of that hill. Guess what dammit...no puttering. I think i was driving the car a little cold when it was puttering. And we dont get very high octane on long island. i will keep my ear out for it for now.

weird.

what do you mean you don't get very high octane? use 93 and put a little bit of seafoam in there every time you fill up. you probably do have a leak and when the car warms up it goes away because metal expands when it heats up. you should be fine for now
