Default Loose Door Handle

Sorry to repeat post - looks like I should have posted in this forum instead of A4 one.

I have a 2002 A4 and the drivers exterior door handle cover is coming loose. The handle itself seems fine, its just the paint coloured cover that attaches over it. Does anyone know if this cover just clips on or whether there are any screws I can tighten. I dont want it to come off completely when driving. Also the lock itself seems to rattle a little so this may be related to it also. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks

The painted cover of the handle is held on by a sliding clip you'll need a pick or a thin screw diver, pull the handle up and out a bit you'll be able to see a sliver metal sliding clip use the screw driver to slide it to the right this will allow you to completly remove the painted handle. Now you'll see that there are little tags on the slider that are bent up a little, these are what lose there spring just bend them up a little and refit the handle by sliding the slide clip back to the left make sure it goes all the way to the end. Bend the clips to little and it will rattle bend them to much and you won't be able to slide it all the way to the end, you'll know when you got it right because it won't rattle.

Thanks. I think I can see the clip you are talking about, but can't see quite how it would slide off.
Bit worried about doing more harm than good and not being able to get it back on.

Is it a fairly easy job? - looks a bit fiddly to me.

Am I correct in assuming that the clip should keep it held in place if I dont do anything with it?

Thanks for the reply - will see if I pluck up the courage to have a go.

Ended up taking it in to an Audi dealer to see what they said.
The guy took one look at it and stuck a screwdriver in the handle and pushed the clip along to tighten it. No need to remove the cover.
Job done.
As long as it doesn't loosen again.
Thanks for advice anyway.

Can you be more descriptive about what this Audi guy did?
