Default loud siren like noise...intake? dv? turbo?

ok, so i tried the DIY intake mod at http://www.europeanspeed.com/, and right after my car started making this horribly loud siren-like noise whenever the rpm's went over 2.5-3k (about the same time the turbo would kick in), anyways, i put the airbox back to stock, and it is still making this noise, which makes me think it isnt the airbox, could it be the dv? would that make this loud whirring siren-like noise whenever i hit the gas? help. help me now.

At least you were honest about the DIY bit.. LOL (I'm still laughing) Anyway, I'd do a couple of things.

1, Check your oil pressure.. I mean properly... with a oil pressure gauge. Dont wait for the damn light to come on (it only comes on when oil pressure is at about 4-5 pounds which is very very bad). Because your turbo is... well sort of Oil Driven (not quite but it's hard to explain). You may not be getting enough oil to it & it is having a heart attack everytime you accelerate.

2, Check to make sure everything is connected PROPERLY from the air hoses, to the standard box. But unless your car is running like a piece of **** it sounds like an oil pressure problem to me.

How do I know this???? My car is still on blocks after doing the same thing but mine makes a tappet noise, so if yours isn't then just make sure turbo is getting all the oil it needs. For example no blockages?

I'd say that to, they leak badly sometimes and make all sorts of weird noises on boost.

My friends EVO stock DV had gone, he was crapping himself as it sounded like a girl screaming everytime he put his foot down lol.

Last time I had a siren noise my turbo had died. But I mainly heard it when not under load and driving slow (ie leaving a parking lot).

yeah i think it must be something w/ the dv or the turbo, b/c the car has absolutely no get up whatsoever, it feels like the turbo isn't doing anything at all.

If it has no guts then I would almost definitely say that the DV is on it's gonna poo itself shortly.
