Default LOW OIL LIGHT - HELP???

I have a 2002 A4 1.8T and for some reason the low oil light has come on a couple of times. (This is the yellow light that is coming on - not the red light that I've been reading about dealing with oil pressure). I've checked the oil level and it is fine. I know that the dip stick sleeve is broke at the top and I am in the process of replacing that.

Any idea why this light would come on if the oil level is fine? Again, this is not the red oil pressure light that is coming on.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

If the yellow sleeve is broken, your dipstick is going in too far and will read full when it is not.

Thanks for that info bro. I need to get that sleeve changed ASAP.

What's crazy is the oil level is right on the full line on the dipsitck. Once the oil light comes on, after I check the oil level the light will go off.
