Default lowering my a4

Given that Im on a pretty tight budget (student and all), do you guys thinks that I would get away with putting lowering springs in and not changing the stock shockers? Or will the shocks just die soon after? Im more into changing the look of the car, so I dont intend on throwing it about too often.

Any guidlines on which springs are good? Ive a 98 2.4 v6 tip.

Cheers again.

Since your not looking for a stiff ride but just lowering look into Eibach. they make lowering springs that have a softer ride then other companies. on the issue of shocks. mismatched shocks and springs will cause a really uncomfortable ride. i would go to www.tirerack.com they have a Eibach setup that includes springs and shocks. i thnk its like 5 or 6 hundred dollars. Which is a standard price for springs and shocks. they also make a pro plus kit that include anti-roll bars. but these are not needed since you arent doing any type of organized racing.

your factory shocks are not meant to be lowered. They will end up dying soon after, and then you'll have to replace them and pay for a second alignment.

You don't need a camber kit unless you go REALLY REALLY low.
