Default MAF sensor

Can anyone please tell me if my ECU needs to be reset, or anything needs to be done to it after I replace my MAF sensor?

So it might be common for it to run a little worse than usual? I am changing it because i keep getting the system lean code. I've cleaned it and the light comes on more often than it used to, and I dont have all that much power. When I put in the new one-the light seems to stay off but when i get on the gas, it hesitates at mid and high ranges. If I throw the old one back in, it doesn't hesitate like that. Do I just need to drive around for a day to relearn, then think about hitting the gas?

without the code im only guessing but I doubt its the MAF thats causing your problem more like an air/vacuum leak

Well i think it was 1128 -If the number is wrong, I know it said "bank 1 system to lean". I have checked for vacuum leaks and looked for any O2 codes but didn't show any. I've cleaned the MAF and it helped for a while but like I said the light is coming on more frequently after i disconnect the battery. Also I noticed if i use the AC it comes on sooner but never on start up. The light stays off with the new sensor but runs crappier.....

Wow-everything pretty much points to fuel system or vacuum....I cant find any leaks. This is a long shot but i was reading some of the other threads- Can the ECTS cause this without throwing a ECTS code?

many things throw codes but dont put the CEL on this is called intermitant and only puts the cell on if it happens more than 3 times, check the main air/vac pipe going into the underside of the intake manifold its very common for it to break up with the engine heat ( pig to gat at though )
