RE: MAINE audi members?
yr right by me, im in Augusta
i bring my A4 to Thompson in Waterville, it is 13 miles from Augusta, get off exit 130 Main Strgoing North on 95. They are a dealership(Audi/VW/Mazda), but have good prices for parts and labor.
They are doing my 40K mile maintenance today.
They are open on Saturdays too.

i have heard of Ayer I know where they are but i have never gone there. i really dont believe thompson is expensive. they charge 68$/hr labor.
they had my car today for the 40K mile maintenance, took 2 hours, fixed my A/C too and charged me $116 total, sent me off with a loaner car when i asked them to bring me to mcdonalds lol and called me when the car was going to be done in 15 min. -they are really nice to me, remember my name and always ask me when i want my appointment as to alot of places just telling me when my appt is.

I went to Ayer twice. Both times had very horrible experience.
1st time the mechanice melted my timing belt cover on my turbo, then decided not to tell me. Found outwhen I was stoped at a red light and notice smoke coming from under the hood. Opened up the hood and noticed the melted plastic on the turbo with my timing belt cover put back on with big melted section. I should have stop getting service there after that incident......
2nd time was to have coolant flange gasket replaced. The stupid f-ing mechanic lost the c- clip to hold the engine coolant sensor in place. Then decide to use a f-ing zip tie to hold it in place. Again not telling me. As you can imagine found out the hard way on this one. Cruising down the interstate at 70 when all of a suddens tons of smoke was pouring out from under my hood. Pulled over popped the hood and found coolant gushing out where the sensor use to be.
One positive thing thow is the office manger is nice.
The owner is an ***.
So based on my wonderful experience STAY AWAY from AYERS.
I now do all of my own service. I find it hard now to trust anyoneworkingon my cars.
