Tie rods are the right side up (bolt coming down through the top).

I may shoot ECS an email about the possibility of getting wrong control arms in the order...

More confusion! I just went out and took a look at my tires to see if the wear is showing any clues about the camber, and can anybody explain this? (wow I really need new tires... NOW)

Here is the passenger side with claimed -1.41ยบ camber, but the outside edge is completely worn and the inside edge shows much less wear. If it were at negative camber, wouldn't the inside edge be showing the wear?

Here is the drivers side with -4.11ยบ camber claimed. This confuses me because with that much negative camber, and being able to SEE the tire slanted like this \, why wouldn't it wear unevenly.

I really want to get this figured out before I put new tires on, but I may have to bite the bullet and get them after seeing how worn these tires are.

I also just remeasured my ride height, and I'm at 25-1/8 on the drivers side and 25-1/2 on the passenger side (ground to fender). I'll have to raise up the drivers side to be even.

I had my tie rods at about the same measurement as i took them off as (I installed new ones).

I got an appt for Wed morning to have my alignment done (after I replace the front lower control arm again). I'll let you know what I find out. Yeah, and you could probably get a ticket for those tires not having enough tread if a cop saw them while pulling you over or while you were parked somewhere.

Here's the alignment sheet-

That's your problem, right there in the middle! You're missing your differential. I'd get that checked out pretty quickly. As far as corner weighting your car, that's the easiest and most accurate way to know that your car is sitting level on the coils, since they are adjustable.

WTF....ummm, looks like you ended up short somewhere, like the control arms or tie rods are soo short that your wheels are forced wayy negative...

camber plates would be freaking awesome!

so O2 did ur alignment, how strange man, you'd think that instead of telling you to go to VW in chico that they'd try to come up w a reasonable exlplination for the prob...I just hope they didn't charge you for not aligning your car!

You can borrow my stockers for a while if you need to, I do O U...

well, hopefully everything turns out okay, I wouldn't go on any long trips, or speed on the freeway until you figure out your alignment and get sum new tires...and possibly wheels...lol

alright dude, lemme know if you need anything, and if you want to adjust tie rods in a covered garage, you are welcome anythime

Its wearing on the outside because the toe is out. If the camber was -4.11 like they claimed there would be steel belts showing on the inside tire. The print out is bogus! By looking at your tire wear it looks like you just need to equalize the camber and adjust the toe.
I also have the Stasis Koni coilover set up, i can't get my camber better than -1.7 on both sides in the front. My tire wear on the inside is crazy.

Haha CLX, i'll get that checked out ASAP!

Dakota, I had this shop called All Wheel Alignment do my alignment, then afterwards took it to 02 to see if he had any ideas to help. I'm talking to my mom right now to see if we can work something out to get new tires + your wheels. The tires are about the same price, so I should know by late tonight or tomorrow. I had an interview at Sears today and hopefully I'll be able to fund this thing a little better now. What do you think about checking out my control arms in your garage this weekend?

I remember talking to the APR guy on 273/market (whatever) and he said that they have a place that does perfect alignment for coilover cars...IDK if it's the same place but it may be??? (you might want to call and aski him(is his name shawn?..ionno))

That's weird that an alignment shop wouldn't have messed around w/tie rods/CAs to try and even things out...obviously you are gunna be neg. no matte what cuz of your drop, but it should at tleast be an equal camber from one side to the other...

yeah dude, when you have some free time feel free to come over to my place and we'll take a look...hopefully we'll be able to get the camber even...like I said before, you can borrow my stockers for a bit, at least until you figure out what you are doin.

good luck on the job, I got my fingers crossed....what dept. are you applying for?

alright dude, keep me posted!

I'm sure you have seen this DIY, but I figured I'd throw it out here, there may be something helpful in it?

Oh yeah I should give Andy @ APR a call and see if he has any ideas. I think the shop didn't want to touch my camber because with the readings they got, I'd be at -2.76ยบ on both sides if they got it perfect, and there is no way it should be that bad with it even.

I don't think I'm driving down to SLO this weekend so I'll probably head over one of the days, have to figure out my schedule though.

I applied for lawn and garden, not my favorite (actually my last choice) but any job is a good job at this point.

I'm thinking this weekend we should try to equalize my camber and try to get the toe evened out, thanks for the link.

yeah dude, sounds like a plan, saturday will be my day of choice, we can also work on your VDO...

sadly I think my friends flaked on snowbard trippin this weekend, but whatever...

well, just hit me up and lemme know what you wanna do, im sure that we'll at least be able to get the cameber semi-even (evener...lol)

garden and supplies will be both boring and slow, but at least you'll be getting paid, and since it's winter there definately wont be a rush hour...lol

alright dude, just keep me updated

Update!
Today I went in and talked to Andy @ APR (anybody else in Redding may know him, I think you do Dakota), and he said to just bring it in and they'll see what they can do. At the very least he said they will get the camber equal and the toe set as close as they can.

He also said he knows a guy that does corner weighting for like $180 (i think it was). That's the same price the first shop was going to charge for an alignment, so I may do that.
