Default Manually Control Shift Points?

Recently purchased Ross-tech vagcom software and was wondering if you can manually adjust your transmission's shifts points through the measuring blocks? Say if I wanted to only allow my 2nd and 3rd gears to shift @ 3600rpminstead of 2800rpm under minimal load, is that possible? I have been experiencing erraticandinconsistent shift points with my autotiptronic and have done everything to try to diagnose and fix this problem but no such luck. Any suggestions?

I don't think you can re-program the TCM with just the VAG COM, there might be some software you can download to do it, but not that im aware of.
You would be better off installing a Tip Chip.

Thanks for the response Auditech, I figured as much. I tried soft-coding the tcu to turn off the DSP thinking that it was malfuncition in that feature but no such luck. My next step is to check for a faulty TPS sensor thinking maybe that could be altering my shift points even though I am not gettinga fault code for that. Someone suggested unplugging it and seeing how my car shifts...?? Where would be this belocated?? Iwould not want to loose connectivity with my throttle body, that wouldn't be good.

Is your car throttle by wire or cable? Dis-connecting the TPS sensor makes no sense.
I would try changing the fluid and filter and see what happens.

Drive by wire. I already did the fluid filter change about a year ago with no results. Tranny operates great in tip-mode...regular mode is a different story.

Dis-connecting the TPS sensor is retarded, you wouldn't be able to accelerate if you took off that connector. You may just have to live with it until you get a tip chip, the stock TCM programming is gay.

Thanks for your help Auditech. I read your previous response in another post about idle vibrations in drive and reverse which I am also experiencing. Sometimes my tranny will shift real easy through P-R-N-D with minimal vibrations and no drivetrain shock. Other times (most)Iwill experience these shutter/vibrations while in gear at idle and some drivetrain shock while shiftingfrom P-D-N-R.Thats why I was also considering some type of vacumm leak that would influence faulty torque converter behavior but then again I do not have any fault codes to initiate that....?? These cars are too much work![:@]

A faulty vaccum pump or a vaccum leak can cause that yes. See what your fuel trim is on data block 32 with the VAG COM. Is it running lean?

So I need to monitor fuel trim to check for vaccum loss?? Wow this is getting complicated. I will check for this tomorrow thanks again. If I would be running lean how elsewould you check for vaccum leaks?

The best way is to smoke test the intake with pressurized gas, but since you don't have that (none of us do) you can use a can of propane around the engine while its running, if the rpm's start racing up you have an idea of where its at, feel around till you find it.
