Default max amp draw from handsfree prewireing

I'm looking ot wire in a cig lighter to the arm rest, and the easiest way is to use the cellphone hands free pre-wiring. However, my fear is that the wiring isn't a thick enough gauge to handle a high enough amp draw.

Anyone have any experiance with wiring it up, and plugging in various chargers? My main use would be for my ipod and cellphone. I plan on wiring in a 15a inline fuse (same as center console fuse), but i don't wanna burn up the wiring allowing too much current through the wires.

Anybody?

Just leave the factory fuse in place. The current draw from an ipod or phone should be below the factory fuse rating.
