Coming from the Honda/Acura world myself, I know exactly how you feel. I didn't think I would ever part with my integra, or any 3 of them actually, but buying my Audi was probably my best vehicle choice yet. And actually after I bought my 2.8Q Tip, my buddy just bought a 1.8TQ, because he likes my car so much. As far as the ride quality, comfortability, and panty-dropping-factor, Audi definately has Honda/Acura beat, hands down. Plus I don't live in fear of my car getting stolen anymore! Definately make sure the Water Pump, and Timing belt have been replaced (my water pump went before my first payment), but fortunately I have a friend who is an Audi Tech, and my total cost was 250 bucks and a case of beer. Go test drive a few, no, they wont be as fast as your turbo-B, but they are so damn nice to drive.

thanks for all the input guys really appreciate it. when looking at cars should i stay away from mmodified cars? i know i wouldnt touch a honda that someone else fixed up with a 10 foot pole unless i personally knew them. but it seems like the audi crowd is a different demographic than imports. for example i found another car on craigslist that was owned by some doctor. 98 1.8tQ with 58,000 miles. has a "inmotion chip", blow off valve, k&n filter, N75 race valve? in addition to recently rebuilding the head, new timing belt and turbo he has all the service/maintenance records. however its a bit pricey at $10,000. i took a look at it and its in pretty mint condition. does it make it worth the extra $1000 that its over KBB value?

Do NOT get a car with a blow off valve or install a blow off valve. Audis use a recirculating system and the ECU is expecting the excess air to go back into the intake, not be vented. It can cause issues with the cat. K&N filters have also been known to cause issues with the MAF because of the oil on the filter and how close the MAF is to the filter. Basically the oil from the filter gets all over the the sensor and your car runs like ***. I've never heard of an inmotion chip. The N75 race valve is a basic upgrade to the stock boost controller. It's a good thing.

The price is high because of the mileage and he probably had to pay out of pocket for the turbo and head, which isn't cheap. If I were you, I'd keep looking for something cheaper. The doc is going to be looking to get his money back for the engine work.

Two things my mechanic grandpa always told me when buying cars; 1: Never buy a lifted truck, because someone has definately beat the **** out of it. 2: Never buy a modified car, because no one modifies cars to get groceries.

the inmotion chip is that shitty one off of ebay, i would stay away from that car just because of that who knows what happens with those things... simple mods like dv chip, modified intake or k&n are all pretty safe to go with, but when they start cutting corners or putting turbo kits on then be weary unless you know them personally and or you helped them put it together... and yea if you put a bov on your car we will send the af task force to repo your car and computer so you cant post here anymore or make us look retarted

haha once again thanks for all the replies. i searched for some stuff about inmotion but there only seems to be 1 thread on here about them and the original poster never got back about if it was any good or not. has ANYONE ever used this thing? my mom seems to really like the car because the fact that it has service records, low miles and was owned by doctors hahaha. and has even offered to pitch in the difference after my $8000. things that cause problems like the blow off valve, or the k&N filter(does it really cause problems?) can be easily revmoved correct?
