True true. Course, if there was ever a time in my life to buy an economical car... it would have been now... staring at these 8 years of school ahead of me. But, I resisted the urge, and there wont be any looking back. This audi has to last me at least the 4 years, and hopefully the 8. I'm sure the engine will, the rest, I'll deal with as it comes up. Accept for that air pump, haha!

Sweet, just found the actual 4x6's... taken with a disposable camera.. and scanned them. Its not on fire or anything! I dont think I have a single picture of the car, with its roof on.... it rarely had its roof on, oh how I miss it.

tom they dont offer any offer special files for my year. i will be going custom tune. im leaning either against dahlbac or upsolute. the dahlbac cost 800 and upsolute cost 650. the perk of dahlbac is that they will tune for free for life of the ecu. plus from what ive seen dahlbac has a badass k04 setup but ive seen someone run a nice number with just a j31 file. i think with my year i should atleast be able to push 280-290hp and 380tq to the ground with the best tune thats also with the nx-ntercooler engaged might i add. if i do this i know ill have the baddest k04 kit out there. one reason i think this is feasable is bc in the 01 they dropped the compression so its gonna give me a little bit more of an edge. shitty part is i dont have a place with an awd dyno close that i can take it to. closest one is 1.5hrs and like i said im not allowed to drive or i could go to jail for a good while so its not worth it right now. there is a place that is only 15 min away that has been suposed to get one for a bit so im gonna have to wait for it to come out till i get it tuned. with my fuel u see tom i put the 317 in bc i moved to a bigger maf when u do that im at 200 cfm instead of 180 i believe and that makes the ecu lean the car out so i needed to richen my car up a bit. i think it is still running a little to rich thats why i am lookin for someone locally for an wideband or vagcom so i can get my upsolute tuning done. if anyone in the cincinnati area has one let me know. thanks
I highly doubt you will make that much crank hp/tq even. What maf size are you using? I have the aeb (big port) head and doubt I was even reaching those numbers to the crank on 310cc injectors. The j31 file runs 27psi which is far far out of the efficeicny range for a k04, if you look at the compressor map, even 18psi is out of efficiency. There are no t28's that i'm aware of running those numbers, even on your engine, and even gt28rs's have a hard time reaching those numbers. If you meant crank that it is still just out of range.

O my mistake I thought you meant you were 280whp, If you get some good tuning, you might be ablt to make that crank hp, I have seen the numbers you are talking about, and they are by far the best k04 numbers.

I never got my car dyno'd and actually never got it running 100%. However I still managed a 14.4 with a 2.2x 60' time which is 13's capable. I was geussing around 200hp and 240ft/lbs to the wheels

yes the aeb head which was on 97-99.5 cars. It's also a drive by cable throttle body, which obviously could be changed. I'm not sure on actually number differences but I know it has larger intake and exhaust ports and is also better flowing.

E36's stock 1/4 mile time is 14.0... getting sub 14's shouldnt be terribly difficult with a 1.8T... and M's aren't as mod friendly as a turbocharged car, obviously, so dollar for dollar, our mods get more hp (though we have a lot of catching up to do HP wise)

want a 13 second car?

Take the M to Dinan, they'll fix you up with a nice turbo M3 that'll run low 12's all day. I have a friend that met a guy wiith a 10-sec E36 M3 that ran on 7 psi of boost.
