Default Metal rattle sound on Steep Inclines/Warmup

So this only happens later in the day, not on cold start ups in the morning. At work I park in a under ground garage, and when I go to leave I hear a not overly loud but not quite quiet metal clank/rattle sound when in gear and giving the car gas. It gets louder as I hit the ramp (which is steep) at low rpm's, then goes away when the car fully warms up. It reminds me of the sound I had back when my old Integra had a crack in its heatshield, except less high pitch.

Im wondering if its my transmission...hope not...I always did kind of think my transmission was loud, especially just slowly rolling and shifting into 1st/sitting a shifting threw gears always sounds clunky. Any idea's?

ps...saw an r8 today rolling through La Jolla during my lunch break. I was like wtf is that!? Then saw the rings and was like "wow damn". Btw la jolla for those that don't know is home to people with $$ see 650i's and sl500's all day etc.

well theres alot of things that could be making a little rattaling noise. from cats too a loose..anything? One thing i can tell you is that you can probably hear it only in the garage because your in a more enclosed place, but the noise is happening all the time. I would check for vissable things first. other wise im not sure. someone elese might know?[&:]

does it do it when u rev the engine or only when ur going? check ur belt and pulleys, see if u can wiggle the exhaust pipe under ur car, and bang on ur cat conv with ur fist.

If it goes away when the car warms up, it's probably some sort of exhaust leak. I know. I had one too.

Or a loose wastegate flap.

It sounds like the sound of metal vibrating against metal...but who knows. Its very metallic and menacing sounding.

It only happens when I'm around 1000 or lower (clutch working or clutch out). Then when going up the ramp with the clutch completely disengaged it still makes the sounds, it sounds a bit scarry like my maybe my clutch is struggling up the hill ?

I'll get under my car and bang the cat around tomorrow, thanks for the tips I'll check back in later.

Wheres the wastegate on this car? The sound seems to come from under the car...but its in a garage so..
