Might be getting an a4 with 196k.....Should I get it?? Help or suggestions much appreciated!!
Not sure of how long an Audi engine usually lasts, but I am used to hondas.
Anyway there is a guy who is selling a 96 audi A4 quattro 2.7L with 196k. Said the previous owner was an Audi tech, and he wouldn't hesitate driving it up to California from Illinois.
Am I gonna get screwed over and have this thing break on me?? I just need this car until I leave for the Marines in about 6 months.
Also some little things are the a/c compressor doesn't work, and the driver keyhole doesnt work. So I would have to enter by opening passenger and pressing unlock, then walking to driver to open. To solve this I was gonna just get keyless remote and I wouldn't have to deal with it.
Any help or suggestions are MUCH appreciated. Thanks.

eh, i'd be hesitant. i picked up my 97 a4 quattro 2.8l with 170k for $3500. And its in nearly mint condition, inside and out.

How long has the most recent owner had it? Sounds like you can get a better price with the problems you described, both of which would be a PITA-

Thanks guys, not gonna get it. But after the offer now all I want is an A4 haha.

i paid 3500 for my 97 with 110k theres deals be had 196k is alot of miles
