I usually get between 330 and 350 miles to a tank with my car. wish I could find a way of getting more mileage out of it, other than driving like a 78 year old.

 

Ok, that makes me feel better. I think I still might get an S4 now again!

Yeah my friend gets like 300 miles to a tank in his B5 S4... like everyone already said, just start doing so maintenance. Sparks, airfilter, fuel system cleaner, get your car vagged for possible component failures that could be making your MPG bad... etc...

 

Get about 350-370 currently and have gone past 400 a tank in warmer weather withmy 1.8t w/tip. I Typically drive it relatively easy.

 

Wow...I have 2003 A4 1.8T stock and I get around 460 miles per tank...I guess thats very good comparing to what u guys get...

Your probably FWD right? They tend to get better MPG for obvious reasons. Thats still amazing that you are getting over 30.

 

Did you do the fuel tank mod? Trying to save weight by going w/ a smaller tank? JK. I was kinda shocked when I first read that. Seriously though, I average about 420 miles/tank. That's about 80% highway, 20% city driving.

 

Do B5's and B6's have the same size gas tank though? When I my gas light comes on I put an average of like 14.5 gallons in before the pump shuts off. Is that the same for the B6?
