Ok i have had my 04 1.8t 6-speed for about 2 months now. I have to say i LOVE the car for what it is. Smooth, comfortable and girls like it (always a plus) I bought the car knowing it was lackin a lil power for my taste, but i just had to buy it after i drove it. I have been researching as much as i can about modding this car. Im starting to wonder is it worth it. Im gonna keep the car as a daily driver, but im starting to consider buying a summer car instead of dumping thousands into a car that may never see 300awhp. So should i start modding my audi OR accpet it for what it is, keep it as my DD, and buy a sportscar for the summer? Opinions are welcomed!!!
possible summer cars:
- 03 to 05 Mitsu. Evo.
- 88 Mustang GTbuilt for street/ race (owning a ford goes agaisnteverything i believe in but i know the guy who owns this car and its a MONSTER for $7000)
- or b5 S4

 

A b5 s4 takes $12,000 for a good turbo kit upgrade. Mustangs have no style, and an Evo will require similar amounts of money for serious upgrades. If I was definately buying another car for racing or to be fast I would get a ls1 camaro, probably the most power for your upgrade money.

 

i say mod it, but when you decide to sell either demod or sell as is

caution, if you sell as is you will never get your money back from the mods

 

I say keep it and get either a k04 or bt. It will cost a hell of a lot less than buying another car and it will be fast(and damn good looking...)

 

You'll never be the fastest guy on the road with our car but certainly kick some ars in poor weather and such. What's your goal?

The A4 handles great, is safe, looks sporty and has acceptable stock power. You can do some basic mods that will make your daily driver more fun to drive (my route). If you want to streetrace like a meathead and win you need something else. If you want to keep attracting women with luxury like heated seats that make them think they pissed themself, stay A4.

 

you can get 300awhp out of a 1.8t all day for under 6k.. get the APR stage 3+ set up, add a water meth system and your there and its a daily driver..

 

sell the a4, get a B6 s4?

I do like the traditional muscle car to take out on the nice days so i can see why you'd be torn between the 2.

maybe add another 4-500 for little supporting mods here and there injectors, spark plugs, feul bar, snub mount and what not.
Thats about $3100 without the 4-500 for little supporting mods so maybe $3600 and your pretty much DONE!! not bad

 

Good-Good, yeah no doubt im keeping this A4 til the wheels fall off. I think even if i bought a summer car i would end up doing a few mods here and there on my A4 just for some back and forth to work fun. But i kinda want something faster (probley faster than this a4 is capable of for what i want to spend on mods) plus i love the car as a DD and a winter ride. Its nice to say my winter ride is a Audi .I really had it in my head that i was gonna dump 5-7 k into this car before the summer (APR+1, FMIC, exhaust, etc.) But when i heard of people losing to str-4s and cars of that nature with similar mods that i had wanted, i figured just save the money to mod a lil more powerful ride.
