I am planning on purchasing a 2001 1.8, 5sp. I have seached for a day or so on the forum and see many modifications that will give you 218PH or go right to 285HP (APR). Is there a modification that results in HP inbetween 218 and 280HP? Maybe the 245HP stage III kit from TAP?

k04 is right in there, with giac programming

 

Yeah, my ko4 setup im guessing is around 255hp, maybe a lilttle more.

 

how much is k04?

 

800 for turbo, 50 for install parts, and ~600 for giac (i geuss thats what they go for these days). Not needed but a good idea is an exhaust, a bypass valve, and possibly a fmic

 

i run a k04 and have yet to dyno but i am prob runing more than 255 hp....if the right things are done things can be had....but i see u have a 02 so u have some limitations to what u can do...if u r wanting to upgrade a turbo id do atleast a gt28rs considering u have more displacement than the b5 do. ull see better gains than we will.

 

since when does one 1.8 have more displacement than the other 1.8?

well not being a fan of the ugly *** b6 i thought they had a 3.0t guess not. i dont pay any attention at all to them...obvioulsy...and neither do that many tuners yet. that car is a boat on wheels. ya sure they have chips but they have been out for years now and yet have the 'same' engine but yet not the same upgrades as us. im guessin ecu issues...im a ******** as to u 2 are asses urselves....well i still say get a gt series turbo for that boat of a car...bc that k04 isnt gonna carry it any unless the weight isnt different bc the b5 is heavy enough as thats my new enemy right now.
