So, I have an exhaust leak at the flexpipe but the shop won't do the warranty work because my motor mounts have gone bad. If I install the APR snub mount....do you think that will do the trick or should I just go ahead and invest in a couple of RS4 motor mounts????

 

i don't know what "gone bad" means.. but if they are shot then, NO, the snub mount will not do the trick. get new mounts..

and don't get the overpriced APR snub mount.. just get a greedspeed mount for like $20 shipped..

Why don't you replace the flex pipe. It is cheap.

 

puremotorsports snub is great. many people have to shave the apr snub to reduce vibration. 034 makes the best replacement imho.

for engine mounts use 2.8/s4 8D0199379K ($50 ea)
while you are there, do your tranny mounts:
passenger rs4 8Do399151T $43
driver stock 1.8t 8D0399151H $41

 

I love my RS4 mounts, it fixed the jerking/vibrations I had from the stock shitty ones. Deff worth the investment.

 

yah thats what I was expecting to hear.....I've already replaced the flex pipe once and since the motor mounts are bad it has cause the flex pipe to crack again

 

A snub mount is not a replacement for worn motor mounts. If you have worn motor mounts, replace them.
